
The Warsaw University of Technology is a technical research university. In the present day academic terminology it means that the School is entitled to provide a multi-layered education in compliance with the Bologna Process,based on advanced scientific research. Warsaw University of Technology is the largest academic school of technology in Poland, and one of the largest in East Europe.Warsaw University of Technology, founded in 1826, is a renowned academic institution which focuses on undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in engineering and applied sciences.
Warsaw University of Technology is the highest ranked engineering university in Poland. Students can choose from a wide variety of degree courses: from architecture to business and management, from mathematics and computer science to biotechnology, robotics, mechanics and environmental engineering, from applied chemistry to geodesy, transport and aeronautics There are 20 educational units at the University: seventeen Faculties, two Colleges and a Centre for Biotechnology. Warsaw University of Technology also offers courses taught in English. The University at present employs 2,000 professors. The number of students is 31,000 (as of 2004), most of them study full-time. There are 17 faculties covering almost all fields of science and technology. All of them are situated in Warsaw except for one in the city Płock.
