Warsaw University of Life Sciences is among the premier Polish institutions of higher learning. It educates experts for the broad-sense needs of the national biosphere. It offers wide-ranging programmes of study - from biological and technical, through medical, economics and humanities. All of them are invaluable for the future development of Poland.
WULS - international cooperation
WULS is a member of prestigious international organizations such as the European Universities Association (EUA), International Association of Universities (IAU), International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), Association for European Life Science Universities (ICA), Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) and many others.
Since 1990 WULS actively participated in the European programmes as an Associate country, a Candidate country and since 2004 as a EU Member state. Currently, the staff of WULS participates in European educational (Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window, CEEPUS, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Jean Monnet, Tempus) and research programmes (Program 4, 5, 6, and 7 Framework, EUREKA, COST, Culture 2000).
There are over 25 000 students enrolled, including postgraduate and doctoral studies and around 1200 academic staff, including 260 full professors.
The range of the academic programmes is systematically enlarged and currently includes 27 majors within which there are 70 areas of specializations. Academic programmes are offered at the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels; there are also two MBA programmes offered.
In 2002 WULS introduced the three-cycle system of studies according to the Bologna Declaration. The University recognizes also the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) which facilitates the national and international student exchange.
Research and sport facilities
The university has an impressive number of modern and well equipped laboratories: over 50 computer laboratories (including Analytical Centre) and a University-wide computer network, a computerized Library with the main archive, a new greenhouse complex, Clinic for Small Animals, Equine Clinic, Center for Hippotherapy and excellent facilities for vocational and practical training in modern experiment stations in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. In the planning stages there are a multimedia hall and a Water Centre.
