University of Lodz

The University of Lodz was founded on 24th 1945 as a continuator of achievements and traditions of the education institutions functioning in lodz in the interwar period.

Today The University of Lodz is one of the biggest Polish universities and it has 11 faculties. At present UL educates over 40,000 students in 29 subject areas under didactic supervision of 2271 academic teachers, of whom 221 are Professors. International Cooperation has been given the utmost priority in the development policy of the University. Under the direct cooperation agreements the UL collaborates with 91 higher education institutions in 26 countries. Over 140,801 students have graduated from the University of Łódź ever since its foundation (excluding postgraduate and PhD students).

The city of Lodz is situated very near to Warsaw. It is only 130 km and is well-connected by train. The University has the following faculties.

As a result of the cooperation with a number of foreign universities, students studying at the University of Łódź  can  graduate with degrees from two universities:

  • Polish and French Management Program, of the MBA type (run by in cooperation with the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University)
  • Polish – American Executive MBA program (Polish-American Management Center andTowson University along with the University of Baltimore)
  • First degree postgraduate studies “School of French Law” (Law and Administration Department and the François Rabelais in Tours)
  • Second degree postgraduate studies “The French LLM – the European  Lawyer (Law and Administration Department and the François Rabelais in Tours)
  • "The German School of Law" (Law and Administration Department and the Wilhelm University in Münster ) Polish and American program in the Commercialization of Innovative Enterprises and New Technologies (The University of Łódź Center for Innovation in cooperation with the University of Texas, Austin, USA).

The University of Łódź offers 33 degree graduate programs and 134 specializations.

A wide selection of PhD programs is also available along with 90 postgraduate formatting of the studies, including MBA-style studies and studies sponsored by the EFS.  The Undergraduate studies leading to Bachelors degree last 3.5 years, whereas the Masters degree is obtained in another two years of Studies. Candidates can also pursue their doctorate and Post doctorate studies at University of Lodz. 

The Tuition fee at University of Lodz is between 2500-3000 Euro per annum for undergraduate studies and postgraduate courses. The tuition fee varies depending upon the faculty. The Tuition fees do not cover hostel and boarding costs.  A registration fee of 200 Euro  is to be paid at the time of Admission.
